Sañjaya said: On the battlefield, that foremost hero of the Vṛṣṇis—Sātyaki, the best of the Mādhava line—advanced, his horses gleaming like silver and his war-cries resounding. All your chariot-warriors together, O Bhārata, were unable to check or turn him back.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how concentrated resolve, skill, and righteous alignment with one’s duty can create an overwhelming force in battle; numbers alone do not guarantee the ability to restrain a determined and capable warrior.

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Sātyaki, roaring and advancing with silvery-bright horses, presses forward on the battlefield, and the Kaurava chariot-warriors collectively fail to stop his charge.
