Illumination of the Army in Darkness and Dust

taṁ parāṅmukham ālokya padātiṁ sūtanandanam | kaunteyaśarasaṁchannaṁ rājā duryodhano 'bravīt ||

Sañjaya said: Seeing Karṇa, the charioteer’s son, turned away and fighting on foot, his body covered by the arrows of Kuntī’s son, King Duryodhana addressed him. In the war’s moral strain, the king’s words carried both urgency and reproach, calling the famed warrior back to steadfastness and duty amid the chaos of retreat and wounds.
