Sañjaya said: “O charioteer, having obtained Karṇa on the battlefield, my son Suyodhana (Duryodhana) is filled with the resolve to defeat the Pāṇḍavas—along with Govinda (Kṛṣṇa) and along with the Sātvatas (the Yādava allies).”

The verse underscores how reliance on power and alliances can intensify ambition and pride in war; yet such confidence does not itself establish righteousness (dharma). It implicitly contrasts external strength with the unresolved ethical weight of the conflict.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Duryodhana, encouraged by having Karṇa present and supportive on the battlefield, feels energized to defeat the Pāṇḍavas, even though they are accompanied by Kṛṣṇa (Govinda) and the Yādava/Sātvata forces.
