Shloka 65

Droṇa Encircled at Night: Coalition Advance and Battlefield Omens (द्रोणपर्यावरणं रात्रियुद्धवर्णनम्)

जैसे वर्षा-ऋतुमें मेघ पर्वतपर जलधाराओंकी वर्षा करते हैं, उसी प्रकार वे आपके पुत्र युद्धस्थलमें भयंकर कर्म करनेवाले पाण्डुपुत्र भीमसेनपर बाणोंकी वर्षा करने लगे ।। स तद्‌ बाणमयं वर्षमश्मवर्षमिवाचल: । प्रतीच्छन्‌ पाण्डुदायादो न प्राव्यथत शत्रुहा

sa tad bāṇamayaṁ varṣam aśmavarṣam ivācalaḥ | pratīcchan pāṇḍudāyādo na prāvyathata śatruhā ||

Sañjaya said: As rain-clouds in the wet season pour their streams upon a mountain, so did your sons on the battlefield rain arrows upon Bhīmasena, the son of Pāṇḍu of dreadful deeds. But the slayer of foes received that rain of arrows like a mountain enduring a shower of stones, and he did not waver.
