Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how extraordinary capability, zeal, and steadfastness—when unified in a leader—can overwhelm opponents not only physically but also mentally (“bewildering all beings”). Ethically, it points to the grim reality that prowess and strategy in war can eclipse clarity and morale, raising questions about the use of power and the human cost of conflict.

Sañjaya reports that Droṇa, shining with martial brilliance, is devastating the opposing forces. His actions are described as ‘bewildering’ all beings, suggesting that his tactics and momentum are causing confusion and collapse of resistance on the battlefield.
