कि नु वक्ष्यन्ति ते क्षात्र॑ सैन्यमध्ये पराजिता: । कथं नु सात्यकिर्युद्धे व्यतिक्रान्तो महायशा:,वे सेनाके बीचमें परास्त होकर अपने क्षात्रबलका क्या वर्णन करेंगे? समरांगणमें महायशस्वी सात्यकि किस प्रकार सारी सेनाको लाँचकर आगे बढ़ गये?
ki nu vakṣyanti te kṣātra-sainyamadhye parājitāḥ | kathaṁ nu sātyakir yuddhe vyatikrānto mahāyaśāḥ ||
Sañjaya said: “What, indeed, will those warriors say about their vaunted martial strength after being defeated in the midst of their own army? And how did the greatly renowned Sātyaki, in the thick of battle, break through and press forward, cutting across the entire host?”
संजय उवाच

Sañjaya, narrating to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, wonders how the Kaurava fighters will speak of their warrior strength after being beaten amid their own forces, and he asks how the famed Sātyaki managed to break through the opposing army and surge ahead in the fight.
