Droṇa-parva Adhyāya 114 — Karṇa–Bhīmasena Missile Exchange, Disarmament, and Arjuna’s Intervention

Sañjaya continues to describe the strange and fearsome fighters in that host: some are of mixed and uncanny birth, as though sprung from many kinds of wombs, while others are of human birth. Harsh in nature, yet foremost among warriors, they wear armor of black iron. Among them are many dāsyus said to have been born from the bellies of cows; many are the offspring of she-monkeys; and some bear within them a mingling of many births—along with no few who are sons of men.
