Adhyāya 113: Karṇa–Bhīma Śaravarṣa and the Battlefield Aftermath (कर्णभीमशरवर्षः)
क्वचिद् यास्यामि कौरव्य सत्यमेतद् ब्रवीमि ते | “महाराज! कुरुनन्दन! मैं आपको इस महासमरमें किसी वीरके संरक्षणमें रखे बिना कहीं नहीं जाऊँगा; यह मैं आपसे सच्ची बात कहता हूँ
kvacid yāsyāmi kauravya satyam etad bravīmi te |
Sañjaya said: “O Kauravya, I tell you the truth: I will not go anywhere at any time; I will not leave you in this great battle without the protection of some hero.”
संजय उवाच
The verse foregrounds satya (truthfulness) and steadfast loyalty: Sañjaya frames his assurance as truth, emphasizing reliability and constancy amid the moral strain of war.
Sañjaya addresses Dhṛtarāṣṭra (as ‘Kauravya’) and makes a firm declaration that he will not depart—an assurance of continued presence and faithful reporting/support during the unfolding battle events.
