Yudhiṣṭhira said: “O mighty-armed one, you ought not to act otherwise in this matter here. Casting aside attachment even to your dear life-breaths, move about in battle as though you knew no fear.”
युधिष्ठिर उवाच
Steadfast adherence to one’s chosen duty in a crisis: a warrior-leader must not waver, and should act with courage, renouncing attachment to personal safety when the larger dharmic responsibility demands resolve.
In the Drona Parva’s intense battle setting, Yudhiṣṭhira addresses a heroic ally/warrior with an exhortation: do not deviate from the intended plan, and move through the battlefield with fearless determination, even at the cost of life.
