Duryodhana Seeks Droṇa’s Counsel; Imperative to Protect Jayadratha; Pāñcāla Assault on Duryodhana

sañjaya uvāca | pāñcajanyaṃ ca balavān dadhmau tāreṇa keśavaḥ | rajasā dhvastapakṣmāntāḥ prasvinnavadano bhūśam ||

Sañjaya said: Mighty Keśava blew the Pāñcajanya conch with a piercing, high note. Dust had clouded the edges of his eyelids, and his face was heavily beaded with sweat—signs of the strain and urgency of battle even for one who stands as the charioteer and guide.
