Even in the extremity of war, dharma includes responsibility toward those who serve and cannot speak for themselves; Arjuna and Kṛṣṇa’s act highlights humane restraint and care amid violence.
Sañjaya, narrating the battle to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, expresses astonishment that Arjuna and Kṛṣṇa, in the midst of fierce fighting, unyoked the horses from their chariot—an act presented as exceptionally wondrous given the danger and urgency of combat.
