Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s appraisal of Vāsudeva’s deeds

Vaiśampāyana said: “Sātyaki is mighty, steadfast in truthful conduct, unbowed, and unconquered. In battle he is like Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa) himself—second only to Vāsudeva. Who, then, could have prevented that foremost hero Sātyaki from advancing toward Droṇācārya?”
The verse elevates truth-aligned conduct (satya-karman) and unwavering courage (adīna, aparājita) as marks of exemplary warrior-dharma, presenting Sātyaki’s moral and martial steadiness as inseparable.
The narrator highlights Sātyaki’s exceptional prowess—nearly on par with Kṛṣṇa—and frames a rhetorical question: given such strength and resolve, who could possibly stop him from pressing forward toward Droṇa in the battle context.
