The verse highlights the force of authoritative counsel in a dharma-bound society: when a revered elder and commander (Bhīṣma) speaks, responsible leaders respond without delay. It reflects disciplined allegiance and readiness to act in accordance with one’s role (kṣatriya duty) during crisis.
Sañjaya reports that, after hearing Bhīṣma’s words, the foremost warriors quickly set out at top speed to the location where Duryodhana was, indicating an urgent movement of commanders toward their king for coordination or response.
