चिच्छेद सर्वमर्मज्ञ: कामरूपो दुरासद: । तथा स राक्षसश्रेष्ठ: शरै: कृत्त: पुन: पुन:

Transliteration

ciccheda sarvamarmajñaḥ kāmarūpo durāsadaḥ | tathā sa rākṣasaśreṣṭhaḥ śaraiḥ kṛttaḥ punaḥ punaḥ ||

Translation

Sañjaya said: The assailant—skilled in striking every vital point, able to assume forms at will, and hard to overcome—kept cutting down (his foe). Yet that foremost of rākṣasas, again and again, was hewn by volleys of arrows.
