निस्त्रिंशवेगाभिहतौ ततस्तौ पुरुषर्षभौ | धरणीं समनुप्राप्ती सर्वभूतनिषेविताम्,तलवारकी गहरी चोटसे घायल होकर वे दोनों पुरुषश्रेष्ठ सम्पूर्ण भूतोंकी निवासभूत पृथ्वीपर गिर पड़े
nistriṁśa-vegābhihatau tatastau puruṣarṣabhau | dharaṇīṁ samanuprāptī sarvabhūta-niṣevitām ||
Sañjaya said: Then those two bull-like heroes, struck by the swift force of the sword, fell upon the earth—the common refuge and dwelling-place of all beings.
संजय उवाच
Even the greatest warriors are subject to the same end in battle; the earth receives all beings without distinction. The verse highlights the leveling power of mortality and the ethical gravity of warfare.
Sañjaya reports that two eminent fighters, wounded by the force of sword-blows, collapse and fall to the ground, indicating a decisive moment of defeat or death amid the battle.
