भीष्मभीमसमागमः — Bhīṣma–Bhīma Strategic Engagement and Counsel to the King
हाहाकारो महानासीत् तव सैन्ये विशाम्पते । छाद्यमानौ रणे कृष्णौ शरैर्दष्टया महारणे,प्रजानाथ! उस महायुद्धमें श्रीकृष्ण और अर्जुनको बाणोंसे आच्छादित देख आपकी सेनामें बड़े जोरसे कोलाहल होने लगा
sañjaya uvāca |
hāhākāro mahān āsīt tava sainye viśāmpate |
chādyamānau raṇe kṛṣṇau śarair dṛṣṭvā mahāraṇe ||
Sañjaya said: O lord of the people, a great cry of alarm arose in your army when, in that vast battle, they saw Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna covered over with arrows in the thick of combat. The sight shook their confidence and stirred fearful tumult amid the ranks.
संजय उवाच
Even in a righteous or strategic struggle, outcomes hinge not only on weapons but on steadiness of mind: fear spreads quickly through an army when its perceived pillars are threatened, while true strength is shown by those who remain composed under attack.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the Kaurava forces erupted in loud alarm upon seeing Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna in the great battle apparently overwhelmed—covered with arrows—indicating a sudden shock to their morale.
