उसके इस प्रकार करनेपर अपने भाईके पास खड़ा हुआ दुष्कर्ण क्रोधसे व्याकुल हो उठा। उसने समरभूमिमें नकुलपुत्र शतानीकका धनुष काट दिया ।। अथान्यद्‌ धनुरादाय भारसाहमनुत्तमम्‌ | समादत्त शरान्‌ घोरान्‌ शतानीको महाबल:,तब महाबली शतानीकने भार सहन करनेमें समर्थ दूसरा अत्यन्त उत्तम धनुष लेकर उसपर भयंकर बाणोंका अनुसंधान किया

Transliteration

atha anyad dhanur ādāya bhārasāham anuttamam | samādatta śarān ghorān śatānīko mahābalaḥ ||

Translation

Sañjaya said: Then the mighty Śatānīka, able to bear the strain of heavy weapons, took up another excellent bow and set fierce arrows upon it—steadfastly resuming the fight after his bow had been cut, showing the warrior’s resolve to continue one’s duty in battle despite sudden loss.
