Sañjaya said: Dispatched by Dharmarāja (Yudhiṣṭhira), those warriors who followed in the track of Bhīmasena advanced, O King, against your mighty sons. Then, after arranging their forces in every way upon the battlefield, those twelve great chariot-fighters—beginning with Abhimanyu—sent by Dharmarāja Yudhiṣṭhira, charged upon your powerful sons.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma in practice: disciplined obedience to rightful command (Yudhiṣṭhira as Dharmarāja), coordinated deployment, and loyal following of a leader (Bhīma) in pursuit of a just war objective.

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that a group of twelve elite Pāṇḍava chariot-warriors, led in movement by Bhīma’s advance and including Abhimanyu, were sent by Yudhiṣṭhira; after arranging their troops on the field, they launched an assault on the Kaurava princes.
