अध्याय ८० — मध्यंदिन-रणवृत्तान्तः

राजन! नरेश्वर! इस महान् संकटको पाकर भी स्थिरता-पूर्वक युद्धका यथावत् वृतान्त जैसा मैं बता रहा हूँ सुनिये ।। भीमसेन: सुनिशितैर्बाणर्भित््वा महाचमूम् । आससाद ततो वीर: सर्वान् दुर्योधनानुजान्,वीर भीमसेनने तीखे बाणोंसे आपकी विशाल सेनाको विदीर्ण करके दुर्योधनके सभी भाइयोंपर आक्रमण किया
sañjaya uvāca |
rājan nareśvara imaṁ mahāntaṁ saṅkaṭaṁ prāpya api sthiratā-pūrvakaṁ yuddhasya yathāvat vṛttāntaṁ yathā ahaṁ bravīmi tathā śṛṇu ||
bhīmasenaḥ suniśitaiḥ bāṇaiḥ bhittvā mahācamūm |
āsasāda tato vīraḥ sarvān duryodhanānujān ||
Sañjaya said: O King, O lord of men—though this great crisis has arisen, listen as I relate, with steady clarity, the true course of the battle. Then the hero Bhīmasena, piercing your vast army with razor-sharp arrows, surged forward and assailed all the younger brothers of Duryodhana.
