अध्याय ८० — मध्यंदिन-रणवृत्तान्तः
Yudhiṣṭhira–Śrutāyu encounter; Cekitāna–Gautama clash; Abhimanyu pressure; Arjuna’s redeployment

Sañjaya said: Having thus spoken, all those proud, self-respecting warriors replied, “So be it.” When the sun had reached midday, they all set out—accepting Yudhiṣṭhira’s command and moving forward with the resolve to fight with valor, as duty in war demanded.

The verse highlights kṣatriya-ethics: once a righteous command is received, honorable warriors respond with clear assent and act decisively. It underscores discipline, collective responsibility, and the linkage between honor (māna) and dutiful action in a war context.
After speaking and receiving Yudhiṣṭhira’s instruction, the assembled valor-proud warriors say “bāḍham” (“very well”) and, as the sun reaches midday, they all depart to proceed with the intended action—implicitly, to engage in battle with determined effort.
