एवमेते महेष्वासास्तावका: पाण्डवै: सह । समेत्य समरे शूरा: सम्प्रहारं प्रचक्रिरे,इस प्रकार ये आपके महाधनुर्धर शूरवीर योद्धा पाण्डवोंके साथ समरभूमिमें युद्ध करने लगे
evam ete maheṣvāsās tāvakāḥ pāṇḍavaiḥ saha | sametya samare śūrāḥ samprahāraṃ pracakrire ||
Sañjaya said: Thus, those mighty bowmen of yours, heroic in battle, met together with the Pāṇḍavas on the field of war and began a fierce exchange of blows. The verse underscores the inevitable clash of kin in a dharma-fractured conflict: valor is undeniable, yet the moral cost of fratricidal war looms in the background.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the momentum of war once opposing sides commit: valor and martial duty propel action, yet the ethical tension remains—kinsmen clash because dharma has been contested and political desire has overridden reconciliation.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the Kaurava champions and the Pāṇḍavas have met on the battlefield and have begun direct fighting—an escalation from positioning and challenge to active, mutual striking.
