Adhyāya 70: Sātyaki’s Arrow-Display and the Bhūriśravas Engagement; Twilight Withdrawal
ये च कृष्णं प्रपद्यन्ते ते न मुहान्ति मानवा: । भये महति मग्नांश्न पाति नित्यं जनार्दन:
ye ca kṛṣṇaṃ prapadyante te na muhyanti mānavāḥ | bhaye mahati magnāṃś ca pāti nityaṃ janārdanaḥ ||
Bhīṣma said: Those men who take refuge in Kṛṣṇa do not fall into delusion. Janārdana ever protects even those who are sinking in great fear—steadfastly sustaining them when danger and confusion threaten to overwhelm their judgment.
भीष्म उवाच
Taking refuge (prapatti) in Kṛṣṇa prevents moha (delusion) and brings steady protection even amid extreme fear; ethically, it commends reliance on divine guidance to preserve discernment and right action under pressure.
Bhīṣma, speaking within the Bhīṣma Parva context, praises Kṛṣṇa’s role as protector: he asserts that those who surrender to Kṛṣṇa do not become mentally confounded, and that Janārdana continually safeguards people when they are overwhelmed by danger.
