Bhīṣma said: Having duly worshipped Him, Brahmā—foremost among the knowers of Brahman, the creator of the worlds, and the supreme knower of dharma—then spoke, offering praise to that radiant Supreme Person.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights hierarchy in spiritual authority: even Brahmā, the world-creator and a supreme knower of dharma, worships the Supreme Person in the proper manner. Ethical order (dharma) is shown as inseparable from reverent devotion to the Highest.
Bhīṣma narrates that Brahmā first performs due worship of the radiant Supreme Person and then begins to speak—effectively introducing Brahmā’s forthcoming praise or discourse within the episode.
