भीष्मस्य भीमसेन-निरोधः

Bhīṣma checks Bhīmasena; matched engagements intensify

यथावच्च तम भ्यर्च्य ब्रह्मा ब्रह्मविदां वर: । जगाद जगत: स्त्रष्टा परं परमधर्मवित्‌,ब्रह्मवेत्ताओंमें श्रेष्ठ, परम धर्मज्ञ, जगत्‌स्रष्टा ब्रह्माजीनी उन तेजोमय परम पुरुषका यथावत्‌ पूजन करके उनकी स्तुति की

yathāvac ca tam abhyarcya brahmā brahmavidāṁ varaḥ | jagāda jagataḥ sraṣṭā paraṁ paramadharmavit ||

Bhīṣma said: Having duly worshipped Him, Brahmā—foremost among the knowers of Brahman, the creator of the worlds, and the supreme knower of dharma—then spoke, offering praise to that radiant Supreme Person.
