Sañjaya said: They struck down the enemy ranks with sharp arrows that shattered opposing formations. From another side, the foremost of chariot-warriors—Drupada’s son Dhṛṣṭadyumna and Dharma’s son Yudhiṣṭhira—while Droṇa and Bhīṣma looked on, harried the Kaurava host with keen shafts meant to destroy the foe’s army, and pressed after it in pursuit.

The verse highlights kṣatriya-duty in battle: decisive action, coordinated leadership, and steadfast pursuit of a military objective, even under the gaze of formidable elders like Droṇa and Bhīṣma—showing how dharma in war is framed as disciplined responsibility rather than personal hatred.
Dhṛṣṭadyumna and Yudhiṣṭhira, described as foremost chariot-warriors, attack and pressure the Kaurava forces with sharp, formation-breaking arrows and then pursue the retreating/pressed host, all while Droṇa and Bhīṣma witness the action.
