Droṇa–Dhṛṣṭadyumna-yuddha (द्रोण-धृष्टद्युम्न-युद्धम्) — Tactical duel and allied interventions

अन्योन्यं च शरै: क्रुद्धों ततक्षाते परस्परम्‌ | तत्पश्चात्‌ शत्रुमर्दन अभिमन्युने अन्य दो तीखे बाणोंसे बृहद्बलके ध्वजको काट डाला

Enraged, the two struck and wounded each other with arrows. Then Abhimanyu, crusher of foes, severed Bṛhadbala’s banner with two keen shafts; with one arrow he slew his rear-guard, and with another his charioteer. After that, both, inflamed with fury, began to pierce one another with sharp missiles.
