arjuna uvāca | adhyēṣyatē ca ya imaṁ dharmyaṁ saṁvādam āvayōḥ | jñānayajñēna tēnāham iṣṭaḥ syām iti mē matiḥ ||
Whoever studies this righteous dialogue between the two of us—this teaching—by that very act I consider Myself worshipped through the sacrifice of knowledge; such is My conviction.
That studying the Gītā—this dharma-aligned dialogue—is itself a form of worship: the learner honors the divine through the ‘sacrifice of knowledge’ (jñānayajña), where understanding, reflection, and transmission become an offering.
In the closing praise of the Gītā’s greatness, the speaker states that even one who cannot perform other forms of devotion can still attain merit: by studying this dialogue between Krishna and Arjuna, one effectively worships Krishna through knowledge.
