Bhīṣma’s Ascendancy and the Organization of the Krauñcāruṇa Formation

iti te jñānam ākhyātaṁ guhyād guhyataraṁ mayā | vimṛśyaitad aśeṣeṇa yathecchasi tathā kuru ||

Thus I have declared to you this knowledge—more secret than what is secret. Reflect on it fully and without remainder; then act as you choose. (In ethical terms, the teaching is not imposed by force: after receiving the highest counsel, the hearer is asked to deliberate carefully and take responsibility for a freely chosen course aligned with dharma.)

Educational Q&A

After imparting the most confidential instruction, the speaker emphasizes thoughtful discernment (vimṛśya) and personal responsibility: one should consider the teaching in full and then choose a course of action willingly, rather than acting from confusion or coercion.

At the close of a major instruction, Kṛṣṇa tells Arjuna that the deepest counsel has been given and asks him to reflect thoroughly and decide. The surrounding narrative notes Arjuna’s silence and dejection, prompting Kṛṣṇa—knower of all hearts—to continue with further, even more intimate guidance.
