Shloka 53

नाहं वेदैर्न तपसा न दानेन न चेज्यया । शकक्‍्य एवंविधो द्रष्ठुं दृष्टटानसि मां यथा,जिस प्रकार तुमने मुझको देखा है--इस प्रकार चतुर्भुजरूपवाला मैं न वेदोंसे, न तपसे, न दानसे और न यज्ञसे ही देखा जा सकता हूँ:

arjuna uvāca | nāhaṃ vedair na tapasā na dānena na cejyayā | śakya evaṃvidho draṣṭuṃ dṛṣṭavān asi māṃ yathā ||

The Blessed Lord said: “Not by the Vedas, nor by austerity, nor by gifts, nor even by sacrificial worship can I be seen in this very form as you have seen Me.”
