मा ते व्यथा मा च विमूढभावो दृष्टवा रूपं घोरमीदृड़ममेदम् । व्यपेतभी: प्रीतमना: पुनस्त्व॑ तदेव मे रूपमिदं प्रपश्य,मेरे इस प्रकारके इस विकराल रूपको देखकर तुझको व्याकुलता नहीं होनी चाहिये और मूढ़भाव भी नहीं होना चाहिये। तू भयरहित और प्रीतियुक्त मनवाला होकर उसी मेरे इस शंख-चक्र-गदा-पद्मयुक्त चतुर्भुज रूपको फिर देख
mā te vyathā mā ca vimūḍhabhāvo dṛṣṭvā rūpaṁ ghoram īdṛg mamedam | vyapetabhīḥ prītamanāḥ punas tvaṁ tad eva me rūpam idaṁ prapaśya ||
“Do not be distressed, and do not fall into bewilderment on seeing this terrible form of Mine. Become free from fear, regain a glad and steady mind, and behold again that very form of Mine—the familiar four-armed form bearing conch, discus, mace, and lotus.”
अजुन उवाच
Awe of the divine should mature into steady, fearless devotion. The Lord’s revelation is not meant to crush the devotee with terror; it is balanced by compassion, restoring clarity and a form that supports sustained dharmic action.
After Arjuna has seen the overwhelming, fearsome divine manifestation, the Lord calms him: do not be shaken or confused; become fearless and joyful, and look again upon the familiar four-armed form with conch, discus, mace, and lotus.
