The Blessed Lord said: “Arjuna, being graciously disposed toward you, I have shown you—by the power of My own yoga—this supreme form of Mine: radiant with splendor, the universe itself, without end, the primal source. Before you, no one else had ever beheld this form of Mine.”
अजुन उवाच
The vision of the universal form is not a human achievement but a gift of divine grace: the Lord reveals His supreme, infinite, primordial nature through His own yogic power, emphasizing the rarity of such direct insight and the ethical humility it demands in the devotee.
After Arjuna’s prayer to behold the Lord’s cosmic reality, Kṛṣṇa responds that, out of favor, He has revealed the supreme Viśvarūpa—radiant, all-encompassing, endless, and primal—something no one else had previously seen, thereby preparing Arjuna for further instruction and reassurance.
