Educational Q&A

The verse frames the war as an accountable sequence of actions with consequences: Dhṛtarāṣṭra demands an exact, ordered report—time, order, and manner—highlighting that ethical judgment in the Mahābhārata depends on knowing how events unfolded, not merely who won.

Dhṛtarāṣṭra, unable to see the battlefield, presses for a complete narration of the conflict between the Kaurava and Pāṇḍava armies—requesting the chronology and the precise way the fighting occurred, setting up detailed battle reporting.
