विनिवृत्तान् कुरून् दृष्टवा पाण्डवा5पि स्वसैनिकान् । दूतैः शीघ्राश्वसंयुक्तै:ः समन््तात् पर्यवारयन्,कौरवोंको युद्धसे लौटते देख पाण्डवोंने भी शीघ्रगामी अश्वोंपर चढ़े हुए दूतोंद्वारा सब ओर आदेश भेजकर अपने सैनिकोंका भी युद्ध बंद करा दिया
vinivṛttān kurūn dṛṣṭvā pāṇḍavā api svasainikān | dūtaiḥ śīghrāśvasaṃyuktaiḥ samantāt paryavārayan ||
Sañjaya said: Seeing the Kuru warriors withdraw from the fight, the Pāṇḍavas too dispatched messengers on swift horses in every direction and ordered their own troops to cease the battle.
संजय उवाच
Even amid war, conduct is governed by dharma: when the opponent withdraws, continuing violence becomes needless and blameworthy; disciplined leadership restrains troops and prevents gratuitous harm.
Sañjaya reports that the Kuru forces turn back from combat; observing this, the Pāṇḍavas send swift mounted messengers in all directions to signal their own army to stop fighting as well.
