Victory is not only a matter of numbers and weapons; unity, resolve, and perceived righteousness can undermine an opponent’s confidence. The verse highlights how moral and psychological factors shape outcomes in war.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the leading Kaurava warriors, upon seeing two Pāṇḍava brothers together on the field, stop speaking of certain victory and inwardly give up hope of winning.
