Sanjaya said: Then Bhagadatta, filled with anger, tormented Satyaki of the Madhu line on the battlefield with sharp arrows—just as an elephant-driver goads a mighty lord of elephants with the hook. Thereupon the son of Shini, best among charioteers, leaving aside that rākṣasa-like foe in the fight, hurled many arrows with well-bent joints at Bhagadatta, the king of Prāgjyotiṣa. The scene underscores how wrath intensifies violence, while tactical restraint appears in Satyaki’s choice to shift focus to the principal adversary.
