śaravarṣeṇa mahatā na prājñāyata bhārata | vāsudevas tv asambhrānto dhairyam āsthāya satvaraḥ ||
Sañjaya said: O Bhārata, because of that immense shower of arrows, nothing could be made out; in a single moment the chariot, together with its charioteer and horses, became as though invisible, leaving no clear trace. Yet Vāsudeva, unshaken, quickly steadied himself, taking refuge in firmness of mind.

Even amid overwhelming violence and confusion, steadiness (dhairya) and clarity of mind are presented as the proper response; Vāsudeva embodies calm leadership rather than panic.
A massive barrage of arrows makes the chariot—along with its driver and horses—seem to vanish from sight; despite the chaos, Vāsudeva remains composed and acts swiftly.
