Educational Q&A

The verse highlights steadfastness and martial resolve: once engaged in righteous combat as a kṣatriya, a warrior is expected to stand firm, act decisively, and not waver under pressure—while the larger epic context continually questions how such valor should be governed by dharma.

Sañjaya describes Sātyaki striking Kṛtavarmā with five fast arrows and then holding his ground in the fight, continuing to unleash a heavy barrage of arrows across the battlefield.
