भीष्म-पर्व अध्याय १०० — त्रिगर्त-आक्रमण, भीष्म-केन्द्रित पुनर्संयोजन, तथा शक्त्यस्त्र-विनिमय

काज्चनोष्णीषिणत्तत्र वेत्रझर्सरपाणय: । प्रोत्सारयन्त: शनकैस्तं जन॑ सर्वतो दिशम्‌,सुनहरी पगड़ी धारण करके हाथोंमें बेंत और झर्झर लिये बहुतेरे सिपाही धीरे-धीरे सब ओरसे लोगोंकी भीड़को हटाते हुए चल रहे थे

kāñcanauṣṇīṣiṇaḥ tatra vetra-jharjhara-pāṇayaḥ | protsārayantaḥ śanakaiḥ taṃ janaṃ sarvato diśam ||

There, many attendants wearing golden turbans, with canes and whisks in their hands, moved slowly, pushing the crowd back on all sides to clear the way.
