इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत आश्वमेधिकपर्वके अन्तर्गत अनुगीतापर्वमें अश्वमेधयज्ञका आरम्भविषयक अठासीवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ

Transliteration

iti prakāraṁ śrīmahābhārate āśvamedhika-parvake antargata anugītā-parvaṇi aśvamedha-yajñasya ārambha-viṣayaka aṣṭāśītitamo 'dhyāyaḥ pūrṇaḥ

Translation

Thus ends the eighty-eighth chapter in the Anugītā section of the Aśvamedhika Parva of the revered Mahābhārata, dealing with the commencement of the Aśvamedha sacrifice. The narrator marks a formal closure, signaling a transition from discourse to the ritual and political act meant to re-establish order and sovereignty after the devastation of war.
