Babhruvāhana and Dhanaṃjaya’s engagement at Maṇipūra
शमार्थ सर्वयोधानां शृणु चेदं वचो मम । 'पुरुषसिंह! मैं इसीको लेकर समस्त योद्धाओंको शान्त करनेके लिये आज तुम्हारे पास आयी हूँ। तुम मेरी यह बात सुनो
śamārthaṃ sarvayodhānāṃ śṛṇu cedaṃ vaco mama |
Vaiśampāyana said: “For the sake of pacifying all the warriors, listen to these words of mine.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even amid martial tension, dharma prioritizes śama—restraint and pacification—so that collective anger does not escalate into further harm.
