Educational Q&A

This line functions as a colophon rather than a doctrinal verse: it emphasizes textual structure and closure. Ethically, it situates the battle episode within the broader post-war framework of dharma, where the exercise of power and the conduct of warfare are continually measured against righteous order and the restoration of stability.

The narrator Vaiśampāyana signals the completion of the chapter describing Arjuna’s battle with Vajradatta, noting that it belongs to the Anugītā section within the Aśvamedhika Parva. It is an editorial/narrative marker indicating the end of that chapter’s episode.
