संकल्प्य मनसा यज्ञ करन्धमसुतात्मज: । बृहस्पतिमुपागम्य वाग्मी वचनमत्रवीत्‌,बातचीत करनेमें कुशल करन्धमपौत्र मरुत्तने मन-ही-मन यज्ञका संकल्प करके बृहस्पतिजीके पास जाकर उनसे इस प्रकार कहा--

Transliteration

saṅkalpya manasā yajñaṃ karaṇḍhamasūtātmajaḥ | bṛhaspatim upāgamya vāgmī vacanam atravīt ||

Translation

Having resolved in his mind to undertake a sacrifice, Marutta—grandson of Karaṇḍhama and son of Asūta—approached Bṛhaspati. Skilled in speech, he addressed him with fitting words.
