Kṛṣṇasya Dvārakā-praveśaḥ — Krishna’s Return to Dvārakā and the Raivataka Festival
इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत आश्वमेधिकपर्वके अन्तर्गत अनुगीतापर्वमें उत्तंक मुनिका उपाख्यानविषयक सत्तावनवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ,ततः स पूजितो नागैस्तदोत्तड़क: प्रतापवान् | आन्मनिं प्रदक्षिणं कृत्वा जगाम गुरुसझ तत् तदनन्तर नागोंसे सम्मानित होकर प्रतापी उत्तंक मुनि अग्निदेवकी प्रदक्षिणा करके गुरुके आश्रमकी ओर चल दिये
tataḥ sa pūjito nāgais tad-uttaṅkaḥ pratāpavān | agnim pradakṣiṇaṃ kṛtvā jagāma guru-sadma tat ||
Then the illustrious sage Uttaṅka, honored by the Nāgas, circumambulated Agni in reverence and set out toward his teacher’s hermitage.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse models dhārmic etiquette: acknowledge help received (from the Nāgas), honor the sacred (Agni) through pradakṣiṇā, and return to one’s guru—affirming gratitude, reverence, and fidelity to the teacher-disciple bond.
After being respectfully received by the Nāgas, the sage Uttaṅka circumambulates Agni and then departs for his teacher’s hermitage, marking the conclusion of this segment of the Uttanka-upākhyāna.
