All the Nāgas, with palms joined in reverence and with the aged and the young placed at the front, bowed their heads and prostrated themselves. They pleaded, “O Blessed Lord, be gracious to us.”

The verse highlights dharmic conduct in crisis: humility, reverence, and an appeal to compassion. By bringing elders and children forward, the Nāgas emphasize vulnerability and seek mercy through respectful surrender rather than defiance.
The Nāgas collectively approach the addressed Lord (spoken to by the Horse), join their palms, bow their heads, and prostrate, asking, “Be pleased; be gracious to us.” It is a formal plea for favor and protection.
