Uttaṅka’s Petition for Madayantī’s Divine Earrings (Maṇikuṇḍala) — Agreement, Proof, and Vigilance

स तथेति प्रतिश्रुत्य जगाम जनमेजय । गुरुपत्नीप्रियार्थ वै ते समानयितुं तदा,जनमेजय! तब “बहुत अच्छा" कहकर उत्तंकने गुरुपत्नीकी आज्ञा स्वीकार कर ली और उनका प्रिय करनेकी इच्छासे उन कुण्डलोंको लानेके लिये चल दिये

sa tatheti pratiśrutya jagāma janamejaya | gurupatnīpriyārthaṃ vai te samānayituṃ tadā ||

Vaiśampāyana said: “So be it,” he promised, O Janamejaya, and at once set out to procure those ear-ornaments, intending to fulfill the beloved wish of his teacher’s wife.
