चाण्डालरूपी भगवान्‌ सुमहांस्ते व्यतिक्रम: । यत्‌ तु शक्‍्यं मया कर्तु भूय एव तवेप्सितम्‌,“आपने चाण्डालरूपधारी भगवान्‌ इन्द्रको ठुकराया है, यह आपका महान्‌ अपराध है। अच्छा, आपकी इच्छा पूर्ण करनेके लिये मैं पुन: जो कुछ कर सकता हूँ, करूँगा

cāṇḍālarūpī bhagavān sumahāṁs te vyatikramaḥ | yat tu śakyaṁ mayā kartuṁ bhūya eva tavepsitam ||

Uttanka said: “The Blessed Lord Indra had assumed the form of a Caṇḍāla; to reject him is a very grave transgression on your part. Still, to fulfill your wish, I will again do whatever lies within my power.”
