Marutta–Indra Rivalry and Bṛhaspati’s Priestly Refusal (मरुत्तेन्द्रस्पर्धा—बृहस्पतेः पौरोहित्यनिश्चयः)
वैशम्पायन उवाच बृहस्पतिवच: श्रुत्वा शक्रो विगतमत्सर: । प्रशस्यैनं विवेशाथ स्वमेव भवनं तदा,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! बृहस्पतिजीकी बात सुनकर इन्द्रका मात्सर्य दूर हो गया और तब वे उनकी प्रशंसा करके अपने घरमें चले गये
vaiśampāyana uvāca bṛhaspativacaḥ śrutvā śakro vigatamatsaraḥ | praśasyainaṃ viveśātha svam eva bhavanaṃ tadā ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Hearing the words of Bṛhaspati, Śakra (Indra) became free of jealousy. Then, praising him, Indra entered his own abode at that time.
