tasmād guṇān snava sattvaṃ ca parityajyeha dharmavit | kṣīṇadoṣo guṇātītaḥ kṣetrajñaṃ praviśaty atha ||

Therefore, in this very world, the knower of dharma should relinquish attachment to the guṇas—and even to sattva, the clarifying power of intellect. When one’s faults have been worn away, that person, having gone beyond the guṇas, enters the Kṣetrajña in His pure form—the Supreme Self.

Educational Q&A

Liberation is described as transcending identification with all guṇas—even sattva—after one’s दोष (impurities) are exhausted; then one abides in/attains the pure Kṣetrajña, the Supreme Self.

Vāyudeva is instructing the listener on the final stage of spiritual attainment: the dharma-knower, purified of faults, renounces attachment to mental qualities and realizes entry into the pure nature of the Kṣetrajña (Paramātman).
