Educational Q&A

A decision becomes dharmically valid when it is preceded by consultation and the consent of those who are directly connected or affected; only after hearing their approval should one proceed to deliberate and act.

A Brahmin advises the listener to first meet the relevant people (contextually, the animal’s relations/owners or those concerned) and, after hearing their consent, to undertake further consideration and decide accordingly.
