Dehānta (Cyavana) and Upapatti: Kāśyapa’s Questions and the Siddha’s Account of Death, Pain, and Karmic Re-embodiment

पश्यन्त्येवंविधं सिद्धा जीवं दिव्येन चक्षुषा । च्यवन्तं जायमानं च योनिं चानुप्रवेशितम्‌

paśyanty evaṃvidhaṃ siddhā jīvaṃ divyena cakṣuṣā | cyavantaṃ jāyamānaṃ ca yoniṃ cānupraveśitam ||

The Siddhas, endowed with divine sight, behold the jīva in this very way: they see it fall away from one body, be born into another, and enter the womb. As ordinary eyes notice fireflies flickering in the dark—appearing here and vanishing there—so the perfected seers, with the eye of knowledge, continually perceive the self moving through death, birth, and gestation.
