Arjuna’s request to Krishna and the opening of the Kāśyapa–Brāhmaṇa mokṣa discourse (Āśvamedhika-parva 16)
ततः कदाचितन्निवेदान्निराकाराश्रितेन च । लोकतत्त्र॑ परित्यक्तं दुःखार्तेन भृशं॑ मया,इस प्रकार बारंबार क्लेश उठानेसे एक दिन मेरे मनमें बड़ा खेद हुआ और मैं दुखोंसे घबराकर निराकार परमात्माकी शरण ली तथा समस्त लोकव्यवहारका परित्याग कर दिया
tataḥ kadācit tannivedān nirākārāśritena ca | lokatattvaṃ parityaktaṃ duḥkhārtena bhṛśaṃ mayā ||
Then, once—worn down by repeated afflictions—my heart was filled with deep remorse. Overwhelmed by suffering, I sought refuge in the formless Supreme, and I renounced the entire web of worldly dealings and conventions.
